Yoga has been around for many centuries. Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It's a mind/body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and relaxation.

There are different types of yoga you can engage in: Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, Ashtanga, Bikram(my favorite) and Lyengar.

Yoga is one of my favorite workouts. I do yoga at least 3 times a week, usually during the evening time. I have been doing yoga for 7 years now. It has so many great influences on your mind/body; better flexibility, more muscle strength and tone, better respiration, energy and vitality, maintaining a balanced metabolism, weight reduction, cardio and circulatory health, improved athletic performance, protection from injury, and mental-well being. Additionally, yoga is a good exercise if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease.
